Starting in Advent 2011, we have begun a new partnership with a parish in Labrande, Haiti called St. Anne's. We are working with Dr. Rodrigue Mortel in the Baltimore Haiti Partnership Project to learn how to best partner with the church in Haiti. St. Anne's is a rural parish in the Archdiocese of Gonaives. As our relationship develops, we hope to send groups from the Nativity community on short-term mission trips.
Nativity:Nigeria is our other international mission. Over the past five years, we have developed working relationships with Dr. Chris Isichei from the Faith Alive Hospital in Jos, Nigeria and Sr. Oresoa from the Anawim Home Orphanage. Missionaries have made trips to these communities every August to build relationships with and serve the individuals in these communities. There will be another mission trip to Nigeria in August 2011 -- the application and interview process will begin in February/March.
